HEY! Guess what? The album is out now. Grab it: https://tripulse.fanlink.to/revival
You can download it for free in lossless FLAC format from that link by sharing it on twitter.

ALSO SHIRTS: https://teespring.com/tripulse-revival
LIMITED TIME.

Now then, the original announcement post is below, thank you for your time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not going to put the whole announcement in this post, that's redundant. Go read the actual announcement if you haven't already.

So, here's the lowdown. Like it says in the announcement, your assignment should you choose to accept it is to look at this picture and make a song based on it. What kind of mood do you think this picture conveys? How do you feel about it? What do you think is happening? Keep all that in mind when you make your song, really try to paint your own picture.

This picture is the result of being prompted by a single word.
The word: Revival.

Sorixa made this, she's on twitter and instagram, and hangs around here too.
Open the spoiler if you want a more detailed story suggestion.
Spoiler:
Here's the story Sorixa wrote for the picture:
Do you remember how it feels to fly?
It’s hard, isn’t it? It’s hard to remember, hard to think of what could have been.
Yet, on this cold earth that now surrounds you, there is still hope.
With each turn of a corner, there are new possibilities.
You just need the will to chase them.
You are your canvas.
And with each step forward, you color your world.
No genre requirement, no tempo restriction, no key restriction, nothing of the sort. You have absolute creative freedom. As long as you feel like the song you make fits that picture, it qualifies. The only rule is that you can't be using uncleared samples and such, y'know, the usual copyright stuff.

----------

So here's how you enter.

First, upload your track to soundcloud or clyp or anywhere else that we can stream it. If you have a mastered version, use that.
Make it a private link and post it in this thread for judging. We might disqualify you if you skip this step.

Next, prepare an UNMASTERED VERSION and submit it through this form.
Submitting a mastered version won't necessarily disqualify you, but we'd strongly prefer unmastered files.

Submissions close on January 16th 2019.

After submissions close, we will judge all the submissions and choose the best of the bunch to go on the album. From those chosen submissions, there will be two prize winners.
First prize will win a $75 (USD) cash prize, a paid version of MeldaProduction's MFreeFXBundle, and MMultiAnalyzer.
Second prize will win a $25 cash prize and the MFreeFXBundle as well.
Both prize winners will get a free T-shirt if accepted.

As a reminder, we will be selling album merch for a limited time after the album is released, and 50% of all proceeds from both the merch and the album will be donated to Notes for Notes.

The judging window will run until January 23rd, and our targeted release date is February 6th.

----------

If you have any questions about the theme, want to discuss ideas with others, or want constructive criticism on your song, feel free to discuss in this thread or join our Discord server. If you have questions about the submission form, please private message me here on the forums or DM me on Discord.

Let's make something great happen!

So here's my first submission:
https://soundcloud.com/artificial-music ... sets/waves
The idea behind this one is that it's the last song I released before quitting music forever (or so I thought). A gruelling 9 months went by without music and it was quite a weird place to be. This is sorta the cultivation of my entire first 5 years of the creative process. This one piece of work.

Well, in reality it's two because this is actually the second last and the real last release is https://soundcloud.com/artificial-music ... sets/waves but I didn't want to take up two submission spaces for the chronicles of my Soundcloud and its death. The reason I find it suitable for revival is this:

This submission is like the precursor to my next submissions. My goal is to submit my first lyrical content as well as certain very well received revival songs of my page. We'll see how it goes! I hope that I can find the original version of this song so that I can send an unmastered version. Although, if I'm being honest with you, I might just turn it down 12dB and call it a day. I don't really care too much for unmastered versions of my music. They're created and mastered at the same time, so they were never meant to actually get mastered. It might make way better sounding music but just isn't the way my creative process works dx

Kk, thanks, and until next time, salutations!

Aryll

Alright guys, I've spent the last seven weeks slaving away at my computer to make a submission of my own and it's finally here. (read: procrastinated 90% of my time away)
I went a little off the rails with the theme. Originally I was going off the picture, then I started going off the word, then I accidentally started going off of something from another project of mine that still kinda fits this... so it's something.

To be clear, I'm hosting this thing so I can't win any prizes, just wanted to throw a song in.

Edit: Might make a small mix tweak tomorrow, let it sit for a while and noticed something seemed off when I came back to it. Depends on how I feel about it later. Just so y'all know, you're allowed to do this too, just let me know if you want to revise your submission.
Edit 2: nah

Turning down the mixer faders is all you have to do to make proper headroom for mastering. If you can't find the original, don't worry about creating headroom if all you're going to do is turn it down, I can do that myself.

On that topic as a note for everyone, I realize my wording in the OP wasn't perfect, so I'd like to reassure you that "strongly prefer" doesn't mean "required." If you don't have an unmastered version at all and you can't get one, worry not, you can submit it anyway, just let me know the situation. Also the thing about maybe being disqualified for not posting on the forum was apparently a total lie because only me and @aryll have posted here so far and we have more than two submissions.
