Tripulse Minecraft server

Minecraft. We got it.

Thanks to Adrian, Vex and I are running a server again. None of that vanilla nonsense though, that's just too... vanilla, for us. So, we're running Engigmatica 2: Light. There is a LOT of content in this pack and you WILL be overwhelmed at first, but this modpack is best known for its very comprehensive quest system designed to ease you into the mods one at a time and help you get accustomed. Or you can just do whatever you want without bothering with quests, I'm not your dad. We've got magic, we've got machines, we've got... mutated llamas?

If you want to play creatively, make up some dumb lore for your stuff! We like dumb lore. Like the mutated llamas and John Madden. We have WorldEdit available for trusted users, even in survival mode since it uses blocks in your inventory, though it doesn't work with all the modded blocks, unfortunately.

The server is using a whitelist and the IP won't be posted here on the forum, so join our discord to get in. Ask me, Vex, or Adrian to get whitelisted, or maybe someone else if we give more people that ability, who knows?

If you don't know how to install the modpack, here's how:
  • Download MultiMC and extract it somewhere, then run it.
  • Download the modpack. (version 1.2.2)
  • Click "Add instance" in MultiMC, then "Import from ZIP" and choose the modpack file you just downloaded.
  • Right click the new instance and click "Edit instance" then "Settings" and edit the maximum memory allocation to at least 4096. More is better but not mandatory.
  • (Optional) Go to "Loader mods" while editing the instance, and add VanillaFix and Optifine for better performance. (You want the 1.12.2 compatible versions.)
You can also use the Twitch launcher but I don't know how that works. Also, you might have an issue with getting only 1 fps when you first launch the pack like I did if you have an AMD graphics card, but just closing and relaunching it seems to fix it.

Edit: It's come to my attention that not a single one of you has the 64 bit version of java installed, so please install that before you start.

Edit again: I have something that should improve performance for everyone, especially anyone running slow computers. Edit your instance like before and go to settings, then enable the java arguments box if it isn't enabled already and paste all this into it:

Code: Select all

-Dfml.read.Timeout=60 -XX:+UseG1GC -Dsun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=2147483646 -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=32M
It's also come to my attention that some of you interpreted what I said about memory allocation as "4096 is all you need." That's not what I meant. What that means is that 4096 is the MINIMUM REQUIREMENT. If you want a recommended number above the minimum, try 6144.

Came by to confirm the AMD thing. You’ll notice frames dropping sometimes. A simple disconnect reconnect fixes it for now, just wait for a patch and maybe the issue will go away.
